Originally formed under the moniker Forsaken in 1997 when bands such as Focal Point (Tooth And Nail) and Training For Utopia (Solid State) were flourishing in the west coast independent music scene, Promising Tomorrow emerged in 2002 and haven’t looked back since. How good is Promising Tomorrow? Just ask Mike Hood of Hoods (Eulogy Recordings) fame. In an interview with Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed/MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball) he was asked who a good up-and-coming west coast band was and without hesitation he replied “Promising Tomorrow.”
Having shared the stage with metal and hardcore’s heaviest of hitters including God Forbid (Century Media) and Most Precious Blood (Trustkill) and releasing their own self funded EP adequately titled “Trial By Fire,” Promising Tomorrow exemplifies what it is to be a hard-working, do-it-yourself band and works harder than anyone at being a unique entity in a scene full of copycats. Upbeetmusic.com, who featured Promising Tomorrow as a “Spotlight Band” on their website described Promising Tomorrow as being a band that “spits in the face of today’s generic metalcore—it’s passionate, searing, and beautiful all at the same time while managing to never be predictable or cliché.”
